Allow me to take a moment to lift you From that place that has all but attempted to shift you
You know, snatch you out of your place of peace
Where calmness and assurance has all but ceased
Come closer, in the middle let’s meet…
So many of us have been down in the dumps,
Soaking in sorrow
Forgetting where we come from
Just sad and complaining bout’ that ole corona foe
Mad at the world cause’ we stuck inside for a time or so
Talking bout’ the kids cause they playin’ round the house
Won’t sit down for home schooling, & can’t get no help from your spouse
There goes another case just popped right up, cause you wanted to attend
A house party, quiet as its kept
What am I gonna do while staring at these four walls?
Going up and down the stairs, the snacks you eating them all
I’m stressed feeling nervous at the end of my ropes
I’m listening to the news feeling like I’m bout’ to choke.
Too much information filtering through the unknown
Every time I feel a cough, I pray Lord don’t take me home
I’ve been talking to The Creator conversing on what I’ve been led
I sat quietly in my scribal chair and this is what was said
You think I have forgotten you that is simply absurd
I’ll never leave you nor forsake you, this is a reminder of my word
These children I have given you as a blessing for your sanity and are not a curse
Next time you start complaining, think of the kids who had their last ride in a hearse
Those parents who sit in silence longing to hear their children’s cries in their space
Would give anything in this world if they could simply take your place
It’s time to change your view from below and underneath
To a kingdom place where through the eyes of Christ you’ll see
No more complaining about being still, when this is to keep you safe Just stand there and see my salvation, get comfortable in your space
Take in the children’s laughter, for they are getting to know you well This time spend with the family is where my Spirit dwells
The person who is inside without company in which to chill
I am the God of friendship invite me & your time I’ll fill
No more allowing your days to be down and in despair
Look from a high place then your joy you’ll be able to share
This too shall pass so keep the faith in me I’m with you even in this, just watch and you will see
No matter what it looks like I am growing you in maturity and your faith Just look to me for your help, I reside in the high place.
