"13 Men" rehearsal.

The cast party is an important working part of production. Actors have been known to work for little to nothing just to do what they love. Actors desire to grace the stage, become someone else, tell a story to the people who have travelled, sometimes, far and wide.

"As producers and directors, it is our job to make them feel appreciated, welcomed."

What sacrifices have been made from the times of Ezra? How many lives have been changed because an actor was used as a mirror? Throwing a cast party is the least we can do, for those whom have given so much.

I think my favorite cast party was the one where I made certificates and presented them to uplift the guys in my play “13 Men”. The food was great, but the way their eyes lit up because someone had affirmed them in their callings. It was very prophetic, and I knew that the moment Holy Spirit led me to do it.

I had been used to speak life, to pour back into actors who had been beat down by unfair circumstances and society.

A cast party was the least I could do. I passed out awards like, “The Most Faithful” cast member. A young man who had never missed a rehearsal, even if he was the only one who showed up. Another certificate was given out to “The Most Improved”, who was a guy who hadn’t had experience in acting but casting him so that he could be around other strong men, was more important. The cast party isn’t just about eating, it’s so much more. It’s about feeding the souls of those who have given all they had. At the end of my productions, I look forward to throwing my team a cast party. Why? Because they walked out the vision that had been set before me, and lives were changed. A cast party is the least I could do…
