This weeks tip is for directors and producers.
Sometimes when pulling together all of the working parts of your production, you may feel like you are alone and don't have the help needed to pull it off. Know that timing is everything. Never feel rushed to complete a project that you have to do the majority of the work for. It only causes stress and steps can be missed if you are rushing.
Recently, I made the executive decision to push back my own production because the theater space needed is unavailable. This isn't a set back, it just means that I have more time to make sure that everything is perfect. When you aren't trying to prove anything to anyone, life as a producer and director becomes seamless.
"As Scribes, we must always remember that we are doing this thing called art, unto the glory of God."
The people will wait for you, so never allow the pressure or stress get to you when you have to press the reset button or adjust some dates.
Also, I have found that everyone may not be available once dates and locations change, so be prepared to loose a few along the way. This only gives room for new people to experience the ministry that The Lord has entrusted to you, so it works out.
"There are so many moving parts to a production, taking your time is always the best way to go, especially if you are just starting out. "
I have also found that as a director, if I want to cast certain actors in my projects and they aren't available, I am willing to be flexible with my production dates to accommodate the actors needed for the project. This is a practice usually reserved for Hollywood A Listers however for me, once I get the picture of the production in my head, I try to stay as close to the vision as possible, and that includes actors.
Be encouraged producers and directors, know that working alone or with a small group is only for a season, just keep going and know that the supernatural power of Christ can propel you into bigger, better, greater, just keep going and know you are not alone!!!
