Get Back on Track
Are you allowing your lower nature to pull you away from God? The enemy is so cunning, that often times backsliding has begun and isn't even recognized. Here are just a few signs that you may want to evaluate within self. Remember we must be aware of the enemies devices.
1. One major sign that your heart is being pulled out of the will of God is when you begin to pull away from the ordained and assigned men and women of God that have been charged to watch over your soul. Understand that there is safety in the multitude of council. Especially when you are a newly saved or a babe in Christ.
2. If you find yourself making excuses for someone else's life of sin. We must love what God loves and hate what He hates. There is no room for passivity in the Kingdom. We must walk in our authority and speak the truth of the word in love. Silence is agreement when a personal relationship has been established. You may be the only Jesus someone will see. Does your life represent the Jesus? Even in front of the unsaved? Or do you conform to make everyone else comfortable, even while you are grieving Holy Spirit within?
3. If you begin to hang around what God has brought you out of. Understand there may be a season when God sends us back to the place of our deliverance. But this happens when we are mature in the Lord and fortified. If you are able to be swayed to compromise, it's too premature and you may want to step back and assess the situation lest you be pulled back in.
4. If you start back doing the things you asked God to deliver you from. If you were a heavy drinker, and asked God to deliver you from that, it may not be a good idea for you to pick drinking back up. Remember in Christ, we are new creatures, old things are passed away and all things become new. The enemy leave and when he returned and finds the house is swept clean, he goes and gets 7 more, worst than the first.
5. If you find your prayer life and time with God is not a priority any longer, but hanging out is.
6. If reading your bible is something you use to do regularly, but now, its every so often or only in service when the preacher says, "turn to Matthew 6:33.."
7. When you have a problem submitting to spiritual authority in your life. When you become combative, rebellious, contrary and want to make your "own decisions" about your life, when before. you honored sound advice and wisdom from those more spiritual than you.
8. If you begin to get agitated when someone wants to pray or play worship music with or around you. What's inside of you that has you uneasy when in the presence of God?
If you find yourself in any of the above mentioned, you can get right back on track. Repent, ask God to forgive you. He loves you and His mercy and Grace will welcome you with open arms. Make Godly decisions about your life that lines up with the word and are edifying to God and keeps your witness in tact. Make sure you are in a bible teaching ministry or have a mentor and people around you that will build you up in your most Holy Faith. Ask God to deliver you from the opinions of Men.
It may be time to stand your ground. We can not please God and Man at the same time. Be of good courage and know that there will be times of persecution because you have chosen to live for God.
God bless you and I pray that this message has encouraged someone today! Love you!
