What is prophetic directing for stage and film? The definition that Holy Spirit has given me is this: Prophetic directing is to completely yield to the leading of what He wants to create in film or on stage in a way that doesn’t consider formal training, secular rules or industry norms. Prophetic directing is shifting mindsets through scripting, visual props, light design, set design, locations, blocking, casting, wardrobe, sound and characterization. Prophetic Directing is literally taking the words of a writer and sculpting them into what Holy Spirit wants to convey. During this process, the actors become ministers and walk in the same authority as the one used to bring the vision from heaven, onto the page. From the page onto the stage. Prophetic directing is orchestrating several separate components into one cohesive movement in order to tell a story that will compel them to be reconciled back unto Christ. It is a place where the stage is transformed into the pulpit and the audience becomes the congregation. It’s not something to just do. It’s a place in which to live in. A prophetic director is a governmental office in which one walks in the creative arts.
